Most maps you see do not take int account that the further away from the equator you get the less distance needed to go around the world, this does that and sizes comparisons correctly by area.

This is a neat article showing the construction rates while we we’re in WWII, it’s interesting how at the start the time was around 200days for a boat, and just a year later that was close to 50days and held there for years.
