Book of the month
- “The Goal” by Eliyahu Goldratt, this is an interesting book that first came out in the mid 1980’s but like many things thing lessons learned/taught by it are timeless. It focuses on bottlenecks and production efficiency in general. One interesting thing about this book is it’s written like a novel that can be read as such, but in reading it there are tons of useful lessons/ideas conveyed and promotes continuous improvement.
Cool historical fact
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Plumbbob This is a super interesting nuclear test, not because of the test itself mind you, but because in this test we(the US) sent a 2000lb manhole cover to space at a rate of 41miles/second. The nerds out there will argue it disintegrated in our atmosphere, but I like to believe that lid is our most ambitious satellite launch.
