This is a long video, but also very interesting it goes into great depths about tons of different filament types many of which I’d not heard of before, after watching this want to try printing some PCTG: https://youtu.be/weeG9yOp3i4?si=S9oLDGWvSVNy1FDP
This is rather old, but a bit of a humorous read highlighting failures of so many evil overlords in the movies: http://www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html
Figure I’d share a random math trick I was explaining to someone this month as well, for easier calculation of percentages this is true: A% of B = B% of A.
For instance if you’re trying to figure out what 4% of 75, it’s the same as 75% of 4 which is 3.
My final link for this month is this awesome project highlighting reaction wheels, control loops, as well as both electrical and mechanical design: https://willempennings.nl/balancing-cube/
“Shop Class As Soulcraft” by Matthew Crawford, this is a great book I’ve been reading recently, it highlights the value of doing work with your hands.
There are a large number of metrics you can measure your work by: overall financial gain, number of people effected by your woke, total hours saved, total dollars saved, etc.
But one rarely talked about as it’s hard to quantify is the one of: “How your contributions gives you meaning.”
I’ve not actually finished said book just yet, but so far an interesting read about a man who went from working at a think tank to fixing up motorcycles.
So a bit ago I had this idea for a cool swag item for outpost, based on this ( see picture below) this is a ruler that Digi-Key has that’s covered front/back with various formulars, facts, diagrams, etc. I think it would be cool for us to make something like this but for outpost. The Digi-Key one is focused on electronics, however there’s are a few provisions for other disciples such as the holes on the right side used to identify many standard fasteners.
So if you have ideas of useful references that you find yourself looking up/using often please send them my way.
